How to Make Hand Sanitizer at Home

People stopped caring about others and start focusing on saving themselves. Are not we selfish? Many people stock hand sanitizer for them and for their families. Not only that but many people also start making hand sanitizer and selling it at much higher prices. Where a normal hand sanitizer once cost Rs. 80 is now available for Rs.500. It’s the need of the hour that we should take a bold step and start making our own hand sanitizer without relying on the third party.

Make Hand Sanitizer at Home:

What are the essentials of hand sanitizer? Can you make hand sanitizer at home? These are some of the questions every individual think of. The answer is YES you can. For making hand sanitizer you need

  • Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Alovera Gel
  • Essential Oil

1. Isopropyl Alcohol:

Isopropyl Alchohol is a chemical that is used in the sanitizer. This chemical has the ability to kill all the germs. Many companies use ethanol or ethyl alcohol inside of Isopropyl alcohol. The quantity of isopropyl alcohol must be at least 60%. The more the Isopropyl the more effective it will be. Some hand sanitizers have 90% of isopropyl. The bottle of Isopropyl alcohol is easily available in pharmacies.

2. Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is an essential plant. the gel from the aloe vera leaves is used by many cosmetics and skin care industries. Almost every house in Pakistan has this important plant. You can simply cut the leaves and extract the gel. But in case, if you don’t have an aloe vera plant in your house you can buy an aloe vera gel from any general store. Aloe vera has antioxidant and antibacterial properties and therefore is good for skin moisture.

3. Essential Oils:

Essential Oils are oils that are useful for skin. Many people use essential oil to make their skin look fresh. You can choose between different types of oils according to their smell. These oils prevent your skin from becoming dry and therefore an essential element of sanitizer as alcohol can dry up your skin which can cause irritation.

How to Make Hand Sanitizer:

There are three simple steps which you have to follow,

  1. First, take an empty bowl and add 2/3 isopropyl alcohol in it. Remember at least 60% of isopropyl alcohol is required.
  2. Now take 1/3 aloe vera gel and add it in the bowl containing isopropyl alcohol. Mash it.
  3. Add a few drops of essential oil that you like and mix it.

Pour mixture in the bottle and your homemade hand sanitizer is ready. It is advised that you must use any spray bottle as it would be easy to use and you cannot waste any of it.
